Well, even though you may have thought you were impressing them with your wonderful stories, and whirlwind lifestyle, nine times out of ten, they could see through it all.
I went to college with a girl and she would lie about little things.
it made me not trust what she had to say.
Who wants to be the person that can't be trusted? Besides, people usually lie for a fear of something.
Usually, getting caught doing something they weren't supposed to do, trying to hide something from someone, or trying to pretend they are something they aren't.
So in essence, a lie is used to cover up something deceitful you have done, or are intending to do.
Is it really worth your credibility? The bible says: "May the Lord cut off all flattering lips and the tongues that speak proud boasting" Psalm 12:3, Which means lying, or even boasting about what you have or don't have isn't right.
We have to be careful how much and what we say because people are watching and observing our lifestyle.
People are looking for Christ and HIS authenticity, which means we need to be a representative of that in EVERY way.
The bible also says: "Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit" Psalm 34:13 You wouldn't want others to talk about you, so you shouldn't talk about others.
Your tongue has a lot of power.
Life and death is in your tongue.
Be careful what you say, sometimes the words you say have a way of coming back to haunt you.
All in all, my message to you is that we need to watch our tongues, not lie, and not boast.
We are representatives of the most high, and our tongues speak the words of Christ.
Work on what you say, how you say things, and whom you say them too.
The Lord wants us to be better, not just for others sakes, but for our own.
