- 1). Measure out two 8-inch lengths of the PVC pipe and saw them off using the vise and hacksaw. Smooth down the edges with sandpaper.
- 2). Wrap a piece of hook-and-loop closure fabric around each piece of the PVC tube, and then use a slider buckle to attach the strap to an auto suction cup like those used for novelty stickers and hangings.
- 3). Push the suction cup onto the truck's rear-cab window and push the second PVC/strap combo directly across from it, so you have a set of PVC pipes facing each other horizontally.
- 4). Disassemble the fishing rod and slide the PVC pipes closer or farther apart, depending on the length of the rod pieces.
- 5). Push the ends of the rods into the PVC pipe on both sides, making sure to push the reel side of the rod in as far as the reel sleeve.
- 6). Make additional rod racks for each additional rod you wish to transport in the truck.
- 7). Pop the suction cups off the window to remove the PVC rod racks when not in use.
