- 1). Unplug your Weed Eater, or remove the battery if it is cordless.
- 2). Place your Weed Eater on the ground so that the spinning base is facing up.
- 3). Press the tabs on either side of the base and lift the cover off.
- 4). Remove the spool by popping it out of the base. Discard any existing line left on the spool.
- 5). Clean the spool of any grass, dirt or other debris using a soft cloth.
- 6). Place the end of the new line into the slot in the spool. Leave a tail of about ½ inch.
- 7). Wrap the new line around the spool evenly and smoothly, avoid crossing the lines. Do not fill the spool beyond the ridges; your Weed Eater may not function correctly if it is too full.
- 8). Cut the line with scissors or a knife and slide the end into the eyelet slot.
- 9). Place the spool back into the hub and make sure the arrows are facing up.
- 10
Snap the spool into place and replace the hub cover.
