Most of us just love to get into the dollar stores and look around and see all the nifty little things that they have there that are so economically priced. Most often we will pick up a trinket or two or something that we find that is a little unusual or cute. Quite often, we will pick up small items for the kids.

When budgets are tough, a trip to the dollar store can be worth a great deal when it comes to decorating. With a little bit of thought and creativity there are many things that you can use from the stores that can make your home really looking attractive?

For example, quite often when you are in the stores you will find some nicely decorated lace handkerchiefs. If you take a group of them, sew them together, and make a pillowcase out of them you can make a stunning cover for your pillow throws.

You can often find some very plain curtains, dresser scarves, or table runners. Most often, these are just plain white with a pattern. Pick yourself up a little bit of fabric paint and paint in the patterns and you will have a very classy looking ensemble

You will never find a shortage of candleholders or candles in the dollar store. Buying a group of these and arranging them on a small round mirror makes a stunning centerpiece.

You will often see a variety of ornaments all different sizes and shapes they really are very pretty. You will also most often find plain wood boxes of a variety of shapes that you can paint. Then decorate them with a little bit of gold around the edges and then take one of these cute little ornaments and glue it to the top of the box. This is unique for setting in your bathroom on your sink for holding bobby pins or miscellaneous items.

The next time you are going to your local dollar store let your imagination run wild and imagine what you can do with each thing that you happen to see that you find a little bit intriguing. You will soon find that you are becoming a dollar store decorator expert and you will start to take quite a bit of pride and enjoyment from what you can do with items that you are buying for a dollar or two dollars at the most.
