Painting the interior of the home is another way to add resale value to your home without a large investment on your part. Clean the interior walls that you will paint before painting them. You can undertake this job by yourself or make it a family project. Of course, you can have a contractor do this job, but you will have to pay more for the service, which will decrease your net profit. - Adding a full bathroom to your home, if it needs one, can improve the resale cost sharply. Consider hiring a plumber to do this job unless you are adept at plumbing. Remodeling an existing bathroom, such as updating fixtures, may add some resale value to your home also.
Look over the kitchen appliances. If they are old or worn, consider updating them. Buy sturdy, durable appliances, but do not go for the expensive, fancy models because you will not recoup your investment on them. - If your home does not have a garage, consider adding one to improve the resale value.
