A monument to thousands of years of English history, parts of the Tower of London date from the 11th century. It was a royal residence, an armory and treasury, and a prison for traitors in past centuries. Ornate crown jewels dating from the 17th century are displayed in a special exhibition room. The "Beefeaters" are unique Yeoman Warders, dressed in Tudor-style uniforms, who guard the tower. Look out for the protected, legendary ravens. There is a charge for admission.
