Ahh, the real carnage. Both the whip and the mount broke and there's not much hope of fixing it. Looks like we're moving on to plan B, whatever that is.
Options at this point are to a) go buy another mount, which means putting everything away, packing up the kids, and heading into town to the local ATV dealer, b) get another 1/2-13 bolt, drill a hole through it, then cut a slot down the side, or c) use one of the custom aluminum bottle-shaped whip mounts my brother gave me a couple of years ago that I've never taken the time to modify to fit my ATV.
I'm going to go with option C, and use the custom aluminum bottle-shaped mount. Keep in mind that this mount is pretty much one-of-a-kind. It was made on a CNC Turning Center (a computer controlled lathe).
