How to Deflect a Laser Beam With a Mirror

    • 1). Power on the laser you are using. If you are using a laser pointer and the device does not have a power button that stays on, you can wrap some tape around the button. This applies pressure to the button, keeping the laser on.

    • 2). Position the laser to point the direction you want it to. If the mirror is stationary and installed on a wall, you can point the laser directly at the wall. Place the laser on a table or other solid, flat object to hold it steady.

    • 3). Use a small mirror, this can be a makeup mirror or any other mirror that is portable, and hold it in the path of the laser. This will deflect the laser back in the opposite direction.

    • 4). Move the mirror until you are deflecting it in your desired direction.

    • 5). Repeat the process with a different mirror if you want to. You can deflect the laser beam as many times as you like.
