Auditor jobs a supervisory and support role for every organisation

The job role of an auditor is that of a watchdog in every organisation because a company's financial

image in the market is totally dependent on the auditor's report. They are the ones who keep an eye on the authenticity of all financial transactions that takes place in any organization. Their basic role involves examining and analysing accounting records and preparing financial reports. They are expected to collect and analyse data to detect errors in accounting, duplicated efforts, whether it is in accordance with laws, regulations and management policies.

A candidate looking for a career path in auditor's profile is expected to have high level of knowledge and skill set. The ideal candidate should possess sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices, financial markets, critical thinking, analytical and judgmental skills. The job role will not only require the candidate to evaluate information to determine compliance with standards but it also involves co-ordinating with different departments in the organization, identifying object, actions and events, detecting the changes required in processing the information and interacting with internal staff for their assessment.

Apart from providing accounting and book keeping assistance and solutions to organizations, auditors play advisory roles on other financial matters as well such as Taxation, VAT etc. to individuals and firms. A Tax consultant's basic role is to help its client in optimizing its tax position, identifying and mitigating various risk areas. The job role of a tax consultant involves assisting clients with tax issues which includes preparing their tax returns as well, giving advice on the business expansion plans, helping in rearranging payments and expenditures etc.

The advices given by the tax consultant helps any business in improving their profits and formulating a return in such a way that less amount of tax has to be paid. The candidates looking for a career in tax consultancy are expected to possess excellent communication skills along with the knowledge of tax processing systems, a strong aptitude for mathematics, computer software, federal tax laws, proficiency with accounting etc.

Unlike Tax consultants, VAT (Value added tax) consultants are also the advisors and supporters to their clients. The job role of a VAT consultant requires sound knowledge of VAT laws and norms, principles and practices of accounting etc. In addition to it, he/she is also expected to possess creative and analytical skills, effective communication skills, good mathematical skills, computer knowledge etc. They have to assist the organization in such a way wherein the regulatory norms and organization's goals are met in the most effective manner.

The whole activity of  Auditor jobs is managed by the Audit Manager who plans, schedules and ensures completion of audits on time. Their job role involves co-ordinating with clients for auditing practices, training and mentoring audit staff, analyzing financial data, records and statements, initiating internal audit controls for effective management, maintaining and updating financial databases, integrating best practices and systems in the audit programs etc. They are the ones who head the audit team.

Auditing is the most important activity for every business because it helps in giving the true financial picture of any organization.
