- 1). Draw gingerbread man templates on paper. You can use large and small cookie cutters to help you trace if you like.
- 2). Attach the template to the felt using the sewing pins.
- 3). Cut out your felt gingerbread man.
- 4). Reattach the template to a new piece of felt and cut out another gingerbread man. Make sure the two halves match in size so that no stuffing leaks through when you attach them.
- 5). Sew the two halves together using the needle and embroidery thread, but leave approximately one inch of space unsewn so you can stuff the ornament. Use fabric glue for this step if you do not feel comfortable sewing.
- 6). Stuff the gingerbread man with cotton, but if you used fabric glue, make sure the glue has dried before you stuff the ornament. When you are finished, sew or glue the rest of the gingerbread man shut.
- 7). Paint designs, a face or other images on the ornament using fabric paint with the colors of your choosing.
- 8). Glue small decorations, such as buttons, rhinestones, beads or other items, to the surface of the gingerbread man.
- 9). Make a loop with a piece of ribbon and glue the ends to the back of the gingerbread man's head. This will be used to hang the ornament.
