- 1). Place the same number of cups on a table as the number of vitamins that you want to test. Each vitamin should be placed in its own cup so it doesn't mix with other vitamins.
- 2). Fill each cup with water. It doesn't matter how much water you place in the glass, but half a cup is standard for this test. It should also be heated to around 98 degrees to mock the temperature inside our body.
- 3). Test one pill at a time. Drop a pill into a cup of heated water and stir continuously without hitting the pill; stir for 30 to 45 minutes.
- 4). Watch for the pill to dissolve entirely in the water. Uncoated or thinly coated tablets should dissolve before 30 minutes. Gelatin capsules and hard-coated tablets might take the full 45 minutes.
- 5). Dispose of vitamins that do not start to dissolve in the correct amount of time. Replace them with vitamins from a different distributor and retest.
