Metzeler are originally a German company dealing with the production of premium motorcycle tyres. Metzeler have always been known and still is renouned for it's quality and innovation. The brand has expanded to incorporate motorcycle and scooters from the whole spectrum from the hypersport racing tyres to the cruiser or chopper style motorcycles and it is on these two that we would like to focus our attention.

 

Metzeler launched two new ranges in the early part of November in Milan, Italy. Guest stars at the even were the world famous Steven Taylor, front man to Aerosmth and Road Racer/ Actor Guy Martin. There was obviously alot of hype and pomp over the whole event which was quite necessary to create the buzz needed for the launch.

 

Focusing firstly on the Metzeler Sportec M7 RR this is a supersport tyre which will eventually replace the very popular Sportec M5. Metzeler went into this wanting to create the best available tyre to cope with the most difficult conditions. As you would expect there has been a change in design and compounds once again dealing with the issue of good mileage. Obviously though not wanting to compromise on grip where Metzeler have won many awards including best wet grip. 

 

Talking of mileage the new Metzeler ME888 Marathon again as the name suggests will eventually overtake the legendary ME880. The hope is that it could even offer the rider up to 50% more mileage which would be a miracle considering the fact that this range has been very successful over the years hence it hasn't change for a while!!! The ME880 is probably one of the most popular custom bike tyres in the world together with the new Avon Cobra. Many of you might recognise the brand from the Orange County series featuring custom made motorcycle in the USA.
